We may not be that far into 2019, but it is already shaping up to be a big year for software company LiveTiles (ASX:LVT).
Just one day after announcing its annual recurring revenue as at December 2018 was $22.9 million, more than three times greaterbthan in December 2017, it appointed former Microsoft executive David Vander as Global Growth Director.
Mr Vander will be based in Sydney and will be trusted to guide the intelligent workplace software company through its next phase of growth, identify new business opportunities and support the business and its staff to achieve its goals, including capitalising on the $50 million pipeline of sales opportunities that have been generated through its marketing consulting firm partner, N3.
Mr Vander has an impressive resume, having spent 16 years with Microsoft. Beginning in 2003, he has held various roles within the business, including Worldwide Sales Excellence Lead for its Enterprise Sales business, and Worldwide Managing Director for Microsoft’s Banking and Financial Services Industry.
Most recently he established the global Business Consulting practice as the Worldwide Industry Lead for Services. His resume also includes experience as a consultant at Cap Gemini and a production superintendent at Ford.
Mr Vander holds Bachelor and Masters Degree in engineering from RMIT University, a Masters Degree in IT as well as an MBA from University of Technology Sydney. He is currently working on a PhD at Macquarie University.
LiveTiles CEO Karl Redenbach is predicting big things during his tenure.
“David’s appointment marks a significant addition to the LiveTiles team,” Mr Redenbach said.
“His appetite for innovation, experience servicing a broad range of sectors, and extensive senior leadership experience bolsters our team at a time when we are focused on expanding our global footprint and driving growth in key markets.”
Mr Vander expressed his enthusiasm for the new role, saying: “Karl’s vision for LiveTiles resonated with my desire to join a tremendous company with great ambitions. I am excited by the opportunity to join LiveTiles and look forward to contributing to its next phase of growth as the company focuses on expanding opportunities with customers and partners in key markets.”
Mr Vander’s appointment comes after LiveTiles was the first company that Microsoft invited into its AI Inner Circle Partner Program. Invitees are selected artificial intelligence companies that produce enhanced offerings using Microsoft technology.
Microsoft is also a LiveTiles sales partner, and its invitation to the Inner Circle program and the appointment of David Vander has further strengthened its ties with the global software giant.
Commenting on the Microsoft and LiveTiles partnership, Mr Vander said: “Microsoft have been very successful in its partnering strategy and partnering continues to represent a significant growth lever for LiveTiles, in addition to achieving excellence in product strategy and vision.”
LiveTiles was also invited to Microsoft’s Digital Transformation Academy and to deliver training for more than 100 Microsoft sales representatives to jointly position the companies’ respective AI technologies to the market.
