Mobile gaming company Animoca Brands (ASX:AB1) has launched its wildly successful role-playing mobile game Crazy Defense Heroes for Android devices.

AT A GLANCE

  • The Android version of Crazy Defense Heroes, a mobile-based RPG, today launched on Google Play
  • It follows the iOS version, which has had 1.4 million downloads since it was released last year
  • About 400,000 people have pre-registered for the game in the last month alone

Crazy Defense Heroes is the sequel to tower defense game Crazy Kings; the two generated $2.8 million in revenue in their first three months after launch in early 2018.

The launch follows an initial early access phase where the game was playable on Google Play’s Early Access platform, which allowed Animoca to test and market the game, resulting in approximately 400,000 pre-registrations.

Animoca has gone on a marketing spree to promote the game, partnering with several influencers to promote Crazy Defense Heroes through various channels, with a combined reach of over 45 million followers.

The game has been a big hit on iOS platforms since its launch in January last year, with downloads totalling about 1.4 million.

We are thrilled to launch Crazy Defense Heroes globally on Google Play. We believe that the game will resonate with Android users and underpin an increase in revenue for the Company, as worldwide the market share of Android is over three times that of iOS,” Yat Siu, co-founder and chairman of Animoca, said.
